Rachel Stenz
Historian
Rachel is a public historian who is passionate about using historic preservation and environmental history to foster community and connection. She earned her BA in History from Pepperdine University and MA in History from Colorado State University. Throughout her academic and professional work, Rachel has focused on collaborative, community-driven approaches to history. She believes in sharing authority, listening to local voices, and using tools like oral history and interdisciplinary work to tell meaningful stories. She’s especially interested in how public spaces can preserve historical narratives and bring local communities together.
