Red Rocks Park

Mundus Bishop has provided award-winning design and planning expertise for Red Rocks Park since 1999. Red Rocks Park is the setting of the world renowned Red Rocks Amphitheatre first conceived in the 1930s. Mundus Bishop has designed trails, overlooks, plaza spaces, and improved parking areas and wayfinding throughout the park. Recent projects include an overlook and trailhead, new trails, restoration of natural areas, and rehabilitation of the historic Trading Post site. The design provides a naturalistic entry garden that will serve as a gathering space with seating and provide areas for visitors to gather, improved parking, connections to trails, new trailheads, and a new wayfinding system. Native plantings and stormwater management care for the land and reflect the original vision. Designs blend contemporary elements with the historic and natural settings. The design for Red Rocks Park won the Merit Award from ASLA Colorado in 2003.
