Pipestone National Monument

The pipestone quarries of Pipestone National Monument have been used by Native Americans from prehistoric times to the present. Pipestone is carved into objects, most notably pipes, for use in sacred rituals. Mundus Bishop prepared predesign and schematic design documents for the primary trail system within Pipestone National Monument. This project will improve visitor experience and accessibility for the Circle Trails and South Quarry Line Trail while preserving the historic trail alignments.
