Denver Botanic Gardens Campus and Streetscapes
Mundus Bishop collaborated with Denver Botanic Gardens from 2008
through 2014 in the redesign of the 24-acre urban public garden. Our new campus
and streetscape designs create a cohesive campus that expands the ‘garden’
experience through re-purposing spaces, materials and features. The new campus
integrates green, sustainable practices, and adds new plantings, plazas, and
pedestrian crossings that enhance the visitor experience. The new Welcome
Garden, Visitor Center and streetscape offers a new front door where visitors
are greeted by a vibrant garden with a characteristic palette of native
Colorado sandstone walls and architectural concrete. Sustainability goals are
met with living ‘green’ walls, integrated infrastructure, a green roof, and
native, hardy plantings.
