Greetings from Sonoma!

The American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA) hosted its annual conference this year in scenic San Francisco, CA. In conjunction with the conference, the Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) annually hosts a daylong excursion, inviting design professionals on a curated tour of some of the host city’s most exceptional examples of landscape architecture and design. This year, the highly-anticipated TCLF outing highlighted historical and significant cultural landscapes of Sonoma, CA, on Friday, November 11.

Soaking up the sunshine and gorgeous landscapes, MB Principal Tina Bishop attended the event, which made its first stop at the iconic Donnell Garden. The tour also included stops at Scribe Winery, Sonoma Plaza—the 8-acre National Historic Landmark and site of the 1846 revolt that resulted in California’s founding, and Hudson Ranch and Vineyard before concluding at Buena Vista Winery. From postwar modern masterpieces to sprawling landscapes of native plants and agrarian innovation, the TCLF Annual Excursion brought awareness and appreciation to the varied and significant landscape and design of the region.
